Hitachi 305mm Compound Mitre Saws with LED Display and Laser Marker

15th February 2011

Power Tools Pro are an active Hitachi Power Tools supplier and have large stocks of Hitachi tools including two powerful compound mitre saws from the 305mm TCT blade range, the C12LC and C12FCH each use and incorporate a feature from the popular C12LCH mitre saw, if you use Hitachi tools you will be aware of the revolutionary Hitachi LCD display and accurate cutting laser marker.

Hitachi C12LC Mitre SawHitachi’s C12LC 305mm compound mitre saw includes a digital LCD display to easily see the mitre saw and bevel readings for operator precision and accuracy with all cuts. The LCD scale located on the front of the mitre saw, above the scale adjustment knob, allows operators to quickly and accurately set the bevel and mitre angles. A handy backlight button can be activated on the scale improving visibility if working in dimly lit conditions or where there is not enough natural light.

The C12FCH 305mm compound mitre saw has the Hitachi laser marker indicating where the blade will cut on the material and can be adjusted to the right or left depending on user preference. Both the C12LC and C12FCH use a 1520w motor to smoothly cut through most industrial jobs including hardwoods. A pivoting aluminum fence that stands at a height of 130mm allows crown molding to be cut vertically plus mitre angles range from 0-52 degrees, both left and right for a broader range of cuts. Mitre angles can be quickly adjusted using Hitachi’s thumb actuated positive stops and the soft grip covers on the horizontal handle reduce vibration and fatigue, while adding comfort and safety. The large base provides better support and balance to prevent material warping and the handy externally accessible carbon brush makes for quick and easy changes reducing down time of these Hitachi mitre saws.

C12LC and C12FCH mitre saws come with 305mm TCT saw blades, dust bag, vise assembly, box wrench and hex bar wrench, they are the ideal heavy duty 305mm compound mitre saws for trim carpenters, framers and woodworkers who demand and require both precision and reliability and both mitre saws are fully compatible with the Hitachi UU610CZ universal workstation

Makita LXT

24th January 2011

The Makita LXT range of lithium power tool are made up of compact and lightweight cordless tools that have a reputation for their robust construction and light weight handling. These qualities make them ideal to prevent operators becoming overtired, making a working day less of a strain and reducing the chance of injuries either through repetitive strain or loss of attention later in a long working day. The Makita LXT range is based around the companies fantastic Lithium Ion Batteries.

Lithium Batteries are a rapidly developing technology in the industrial power tools sector, giving them clear advantages over the more familiar NiCD or NiMH power cells. To the trade switching from NiMH powered tools, the most obvious differences will be compact size and weight. Lithium batteries are smaller and lighter than other types of general power tool battery and it is this property that gives the Makita LXT range their reputation for compact size and ease of use. Other key points for using modern Lithium Batteries include the fact that they do not suffer from the memory effect common in NiCD batteries, where repeated partial charging reduces the length of time a battery will hold its charge. Also lithium batteries can handle repeated quick top-up charges without causing any depreciation in tool life over an extended period.

A massive bonus for industrial power tools user of the Makita LXT Lithium power tools range is the fact that their lithium batteries can handle an extremely fast charge, the Makita BL1830 18v x 3Ah lithium battery, the most popular lithium battery in the Makita range needs just 22 minutes to fully charge using a standard Makita DC18RA charger. This offers the operator a massive reduction in downtime as tools will run for far longer than the charging cycle of spare batteries with no drop-off of power until the battery is fully exhausted. Tradesmen can now operate almost constantly between breaks and the lightweight design and compact size of the tools means that this constant workload will allow heavy workloads to be completed in the shortest time possible with greater safety, accuracy and reduced wear and tear on the operator.

Makita Power Tools

10th January 2011

Makita power tools began producing power tools in 1958 after producing electric motors and generators for 40 years. Their initial power tool range included portable planers, a first for any Japanese company and especially notable as a major export to Australia.

Makita’s experience with battery powered tools, in particular cordless drills began in 1969 with the introduction of their 6500D Drill, which featured a rechargeable battery pack. Battery development and the improvement of the machine parts of their tools has allowed Makita to become a global leader in power tool development and their latest ranges of Lithium-Ion battery powered tools give greater flexibility and better working performance than equivalent capacity NiMH batteries.

Makita’s experience at producing quality power tools is evident in their range of robust Cordless Drills/Drivers and Cordless Hammer Drills. These tools form the backbone of many construction and workshop tasks and are designed to cope with a hard life. For this reason most of the Makita LXT and LCT Machine Kits include a Hammer Drill Driver along with other useful power tools that share the Lithium battery platform.

4pce LXT400 Machine KitThe Makita LXT400 is a 4 piece 18v toolkit consisting of a Cordless Hammer Drill Driver, Circular Saw, Impact Driver and lithium powered torch. This lithium machine kit covers all the basic requirements for tradesmen throughout the UK and Europe. 3 x BL1830 lithium batteries makes it possible to work using 2 tools without a break as at one battery can be on charge while the other s are in use at all times throughout a shift.

For more specific lightweight use, the Makita LCT204W is a 2 piece Machine Kit featuring a Cordless Drill/ Driver and powerful Impact Driver, these 10.8v power tools make them ideal for assembly tasks and general site work especially where access may be tight or difficult to reach.2pce Makita 10.8v Machine Kit

Cutting and Grinding freedom using Makita 18v Lithium BGA452RFE 115mm Angle Grinders

17th November 2010

For fast grinding and cutting when mains power is not available a high powered cordless angle grinder is the power tool required, security, body shops, plumbers, builders and mechanical engineers have needed this cordless machine for years, before now alternative cordless angle grinders have carried a lack of staying power and enough punch to get the job done, however the new Makita BGA452RFE has a no-load speed of 10000rpm using Makita BL1830 18v x 3.0Ah lithium batteries that can power cutting & grinding industrial discs with no drop off of efficiency throughout a full charge.

The risk of damaging the motor in this grinder due to overload, can now be eliminated with the Makita BGA452RFE angle grinder due to the thermal overload limiter switching off the motor if excess heat builds up in the machine, this technology also prevents the grinder being restarted until motor heat has fully dissipated. The angle grinder design allows for a slim line motor housing and uses the lithium battery as a counter-balance for safe & easy machine control. Further built-in safety features includes no start under any circumstances even if a battery is in place and the start switch accidentally moved to the run position as the trigger has to be manually moved to the off position and then to the run position before the Makita BGA452RFE will operate.

Power Tools Pro have experienced tremendous feedback from the trade regarding the usefulness of this compact Makita angle grinder and as it’s part of the popular 18v LXT range many customers have already bought into this battery system that powers the BGA452RFE allowing the purchase of the BGA452Z BODY ONLY version reducing costs and maximizing the investment customers have already made into Makita LXT lithium machine technology.

Both BODY ONLY and 2 battery cordless Angle Grinders options are available from Power Tools Pro, we offer a couple of links below allowing quick access through to our technical website www.Power-Tools-Pro.co.uk one of the leading power tool websites in the UK and Europe.
