With recent changes in legislation surrounding vibration control in the workplace, DeWALT have stepped up their efforts in developing the lowest vibration cordless SDS+ Rotary Hammer Drills available
DeWALT have developed a gearbox which is internally mounted on dampening springs which moves independently from the outer casing helping to reduce vibration by over 50%
For example the DeWALT DC224KA 24v Cordless Drill has been given a tri-axial vibration level of only 7.7ms2 allowing this drill to be safely used more than 3 times longer than most other makes on the market
The range of DeWALT SDS+ drills fitted with these mechanisms will consist of  DC212N 2-mode 18v naked machine, DC212KA/DC212KB 2 mode, DC213KA/DC213KB 18v 3-mode with chisel action, DC222KA 24v 2-mode, DC223KA/DC223KB 24v 3-mode with chisel action and the DC224KA/DC224KB 3-mode with chisel action and quick change chuck
The new design with the motor in the vertical position, has allowed DeWALT to make these the shortest machines in their class with a length of only 280mm
The battery is now rear mounted giving superior balance and comfort, the weight of the machines has been reduced with the 24v versions now at 3.7kgs & the 18v machine now only 3kgs
